1. What is your job in detail?

My job is helping people to enhance their image. Knowing and accepting our own defects is an indispensable step in order to be in harmony with ourself. The starting point is a mythical armocromia session to identify the key colors in make-up, clothing and accessories. Once we have identified our own color palette, we start with the analysis of the figure (face and body) to understand how to create harmony in the proportions through the garments. After studying shapes and colors, we move on to analyzing the wardrobe. The initial phase foresees the decluttering that allows the elimination of the superfluous, garments that are no longer used because they are out of fashion, out of shape or torn. Creating space and organizing it is fundamental to give life to new combinations of outfits by putting into practice the aspects examined together with the client regarding the occasions of use. The final phase is the best known because it involves shopping around stores together with the customer.

2. How did you become a personal shopper?

Through the daily life of the people around me. In the past many of them revealed “deficiencies” in clothing and needed to be accompanied, thus the first “beneficial” requests were born. Then I started to collaborate with some textile manufacturers of Carpi and I was able to “give thanks” to the work I had started earlier. It takes a lot of practical sense to do this job. It is not enough to study to find the clothes suitable for a client, you need to have talent. And the talent is innate.

ALEXANDRE VAUTHIER

ISABEL MARANT

7. How do you imagine yourself in 20 years?

HAPPY and PROUD of myself

10. What do you think of the place where you live?

Have you ever thought about changing and moving elsewhere? At the age of 18 I left Cividale del Friuli (in the province of Udine) and arrived in Bologna. I’ve been living here for so many years. Living in a stimulating environment is essential, but it is also true that if you are not well inside, you are not well anywhere.

11. How much do you think the appearance in today’s society counts?

Too much. Appearance is the evil of society. Today, it’s easier to impress than to convince.

12. Do you love traveling? The most beautiful place ever seen?

Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. We would pass the old age.

13. The perfect look for a cocktail party?

High-waisted flared trousers, low-cut silk shirt, 12 cm heel

14. What do you think of today’s aesthetic models?

Aesthetic doping has reached maddening levels. We have forgotten that the greatest beauty comes from within.

15. Your ideal dinner?

Tagliatelle with cascade ragù

16. Youtuber / influencer / blogger … the way of working in recent years in many sectors has changed, also in relation to these new professional figures. Do you think it is a passing or lasting phenomenon? Advice for those who want to take this path?

The approach to the media has changed and consequently the way to use it. The form of communication with one’s own audience has also changed: today, spontaneity wins.

17. Vintage yes or vintage no?

Absolutely yes. Today’s pieces are nothing more than a copy of yesterday’s. But worse off.

18. Are you Optimist or Pessimist?

It depends on the lunar flow

19. If you could talk for an hour with a person (anyone, alive or dead) who would you choose?

Oriana Fallaci, my grandmother, Freddie Mercury

20. Have you ever had to deal with difficult customers, perhaps in disagreement with your tastes? In this case, how do you behave?

There are no difficult customers but initially suspicious customers. Those who practice this profession often touch sensitive strings and are prepared to face discordant points of view or unaligned tastes. My mission is listening the client, immerse myself in his perplexity and help him through concrete tools to understand the reason for his possible disagreement.

21. If you look closely at yourself in the mirror today, who do you see?

A woman and a child prisoner of the same body.

22. What was the greatest satisfaction in your life?

Being able to make myself loved by one of the people I most respect

23. Coordinated shoes and bag? Yes or no?

Coordinates only on very formal occasions. As for the other days, they just need to be in harmony on the whole.

24. The best gift you’d like to receive?

It’s like a wish. If you say it out loud, it won’t come true!

25. A phrase or quotation that represents you?

Each ceiling is a new floor
