I am a civil servant, I am the driver of institutional bodies and regional general managers, I have a diploma in electrical engineering
2. Tell us about your land, Calabria. What are its strengths and what are its limits?
The strengths are its historical – archaeological, cultural, landscape richness and its deep roots that are expressed in its strong preserved traditions. The limits are the mentality set back in living everyday life and in working divided and without proactive synergies, for one’s future, looking for a turnaround.
3. You are engaged in the fight against the mafias. What is this battle? On what fronts you
engaged?
Yes, I hate any kind of mafia and illegality. I use culture, feed information, said with gods
civic messages, also using social media to open minds to everyday positivity.
4. Was there a triggering event that led you to deal with these issues?
Yes, the continuing violence, the enrichment of these evil forces, the cancer of every civil society and the theft of my children’s future in their land
5. Have you ever been in dangerous situations or such that you have to be afraid for yourself or someone else?
No, in dangerous situations no, but I have suffered some threat to the activities I perform.
6. What do you think was the most prominent person in the anti-mafia fight and why?
For me, they were Falcone and Borsellino, who were isolated from civil society and were killed out in the way we all know, barbarously.
7. What should we teach to the new generations?
The scent of legality, the freshness of civilization and the attachment to one’s land and one’s own
roots.
8. When was the last time you thought “Life is wonderful”?
I think of it every day, it is the most beautiful gift and no one can deprive us of it with psychological and physical violence.
9. The 3 favorite songs?
So Cruel U2
La Cura of F.Battiato
Sally played by Mannoia
10. What do you think of the place where you live? Have you ever thought about changing and moving elsewhere?
The place where I live is incredibly beautiful, rich in history, but not very developed. Yes, I thought of going back to Bergamo, because I was very well there.
11. What lessons should we learn from past history?
We learn that we must believe in what we do and we must never give up to achieve goals that enrich your dignity
12. Do you believe in God?
I believe in GOD and in the Saints, I believe always and not only in the moment of need, but I am skeptical in the ecclesiastical hierarchy
13. What do you think are the major differences between northern and southern Italy?
The differences are cultural and about different mentality in facing life.
14. What do you think of the current Italian political situation?
the current political situation is disarming, I do not see political depth in the actors who practice it and I see only great attachment to the chair and to power, to the detriment of the common good.
15. What are the place you would recommend to those who want to visit Calabria?
I would recommend the whole of Calabria, but if I have to say, I would say Le Castella, S. Severina Crotone, Scilla Chianalea RC, Pizzo, Capo Vaticano and Tropea VV, Presila Catanzarese and in the reggino Stilo, Gerace, Monasterace, Bova and the Ionian coast to descend from Africo down, in the Cosentino area I would point out Altomonte, Rocca Imperiale, the Arbereshe triangle Firmo, Lungro and Acquaformosa.
16. What was your greatest job satisfaction?
It is BEING present every day doing my duty and returning home with a clear conscience of having served the Calabrians
17. What is the historical period that most fascinates you?
From the 3rd century to the 5th century BC , the Greek settlements in Magna Graecia, in the Calabrian Ionian
18. Are you Optimist or Pessimist?
Always optimistic, even if sometimes I am disappointed, but optimism helps us to grow and always improve by giving us the charge to fight for the right things, always.
19. If you could talk for an hour with a person (anyone, alive or dead) who would you choose?
And what would you ask him?
I would talk to Benito Mussolini, ask him why he made that alliance with Hitler and why he signed the racial laws
20. Do you think that Italian journalism devotes sufficient space to the struggles of the Mafia?
The time spent against this scourge is never enough, the better it is used.
21. What are the scents and aromas of your Calabria?
My Calabria is a Unique Essence. My favorite ones are: the saltiness of storm surges,
the scent of the grape harvest, the orange blossom in the greater bloom of orange and the king Bergamot
22. What do you think about the European Union?
I am convinced Europeanist, but the conception and structure of it do not satisfy me, because there is not a real union and sharing in defense, in homogeneous common economic policy and security is not reassured by an army or force of equal police for all, there are still too many obstacles.
23. From the latest recorded data, it seems that tourism in Italy is in decline, despite our country is not culturally and landscape from less to no one else. Why? What to do for Italy to become the beautiful country again?
Yes, indeed because of the infinite riches we have, we do not make any revenue from the revenue from tourism. We are not professional in receiving, we do not have efficient connections and, I have to say, we do not properly protect our wealth, starting from the territory to reach the archaeological areas and ending up in our cities that are less and less cared for and do not have competitiveness in the prices of receptivity with others European countries. Prices and services not at the top.
24. You have lived in Bergamo for years. What did you do? What it was like to live in a place like thisdifferent? Is there something you miss about that city?
I lived in the province of Bergamo, I was involved in culture, acting as an inter-loan librarian in contact with young people, students, professors and librarians. I lived the best years of my life on a social and professional level.
25. A phrase or quotation that represents you?
Legality, Security, Transparency and Tenacity.
