1. You are archaeologist and tour guide, right? Tell us about your work. What’s in the detail?
How Archaeologist, I often come into research and archaeological surveillances in the territory of my city, Syracuse. As a tour guide, work in the province of Syracuse, making known to my travelers, the archaeological and historical-artistic beauty of the territory
2. What studies did you do and what was the path that has led you where you are now?
I graduated in cultural heritage science and I achieved the specialty school in archeology with the highest and the praise in 2011. In 2014, I have passed the regional competition for tour guide and since then I have devoted to the promotion of the territory, including through my driving services and my blog, “Viaggio a Sud-Est”. With the increase in my popularity on the web, especially on Instagram and TripAdvisor, I had the store of my brand to protect my customers with the quality and professionalism of my services.
3. Talk about your Sicily. What are the presses and what the defects of this region?
Sicily has so many precious: Sun almost all year round, enviable climate, gorgeous sea, exceptional cultural heritage. Defects: having so much, it is not always easy to handle everything better. We can/have to do/offer more!
4. What are the tours you propose?
My cultural tours touch Southeast Sicily, Syracuse, known, Palazzolo Acreide, are the favorite destinations from my travelers

6. What is a magical place in your city, Syracuse?
Surely, the island of Ortigia, the historic center of Syracuse. It has an undeniable charm and every square centimeter is rich in beauty.
7. Sicilian cuisine is an explosion of flavors, it is complex and rich. What are the flavors that most love and who still call you home?
I love the taste of sweet ricotta of cannols and casters and the “arancine”
8. I read this sentence said by Carmen Consoli “We Sicilians are pretty challenging people: think about the “caponata” a unique dish that is a mix of a thousand flavors. It is not significant?” What do you think? Sicilians are really rich in facets?
Absolutely I agree with Carmen Consoli: We are rich in facets Perhaps just because Sicilian is born from the mix of all peoples who have lived Sicily and who has always left us something.
9. How do you face the difficulties of life?
Looking for finding in force myself, but I often need family support and friends, few, but good.
10. Talking about you as a tour guide, what do you like most of this work?
The opportunity to know new people, learn about their uses and customs, to confront and learn from them; to be in the open air and to be always on the move.
11. Who are your customers prevalence?
Predomy are foreign and American nationality.
12. Talking about your business from Archeologia, what was the greatest satisfaction?
My greatest satisfaction was to dig for several years in a Siracusa site, the so-called Roman gymnasium and was involved in the study of the Greek agents that we have found during excavation campaigns. We will soon publish the results of the studies and I will never stop thanking the prof. Francesco Tomasello, which gave me this great opportunity to put my skills in my field.

16. From the latest recorded data, it seems that tourism in Italy is declining, despite the fact that our country is not culturally and landscape-oriented less than anyone else. Why? What to do for Italy to become “the beautiful country” again?
Let’s say that Italy is “the Beautiful Country” , and it always will be, but we need to take more care of our archaeological, historical-artistic and naturalistic heritage, make the most of it and see the visitor, more and more attentive, as a resource and not as a “Plucking chicken” … we must raise the level of the tourist offer in order to attract quality tourism and not mass tourism.
17. What excites you?
I am excited by Beauty and the Good, in all its expressions.
18. A book you would like to recommend?
I tip “Memoirs of Hadrian”, a masterpiece by Marguerite Yourcenar.
19. If you could get inside a painting, which one would you choose and why?
I would like to enter Giorgione’s painting, “The storm” to spy on the characters and perceive the apparent stillness of the moment before the storm
20. How do you imagine yourself in 20 years?
I prefer to not imagine myself in twenty years and try to live the present moment to the fullest, because I think that the future is built today and everything can change! But I certainly hope to keep the enthusiasm for my work (which I love) and for life intact!
