VALENTINA RIZZI

1.Tell us about your work.  How long have you been in the fitness world and what has been your career path?
I started teaching fitness when I was 18 … in 1999
I remember doing the Isef, Higher Institute of Physical Education, and in the moments when I didn’t go to school I taught in a gym in Rapallo. My first work experience … if I think about it I laugh … in those times I used to write everything and I felt so clumsy … In 2001 I graduated, immediately after I attended the integrative year of motor sciences to the University of Turin and I started my career in several gyms.
Let’s say that it was becoming easier and easier to stay in a fitness room and teach, and I liked it so much that in 2004, after taking my degree, I decided to undertake the experience of entrepreneur of a gym called Everfit, which I had until  to 2007.
I taught fitness and continued to study, in the meantime I attended the fitness conventions that were all over Italy.  The most important in those times was Rimini wellness which for a couple of years was made in Florence;  There I went up on the Crunch stage (year 2004) … it was a big stage and I was so thrilled!  I had taught kardio kombat.  For me it was a small dream come true … to get on a stage and entertain people.
In addition to teaching in the gym, I liked organizing charity sporting events, for example for the earthquake victims in Emilia or in favor of the Sla. I always liked it and it seemed right to do what I did best, to help those who needed it most.  In 2004 I attended various training courses of various disciplines but always specializing in boxing … fitboxe.
In 2011 I met Luigi Roncaglio, who gave me the opportunity to get to know ironboxe (from the fitboxing family).  Kicks and punches to the sack to the rhythm of music!  Together with him I went on the stage of Rimini wellness and I was there for many years … until 2015.
I spent the winter season in various stages of Italy, I met many professionals and artists including the legendary Jill Cooper.  Professionals with a lot of humility.  I learned that only by turning could I open my mind and teach better and better.
In these years of fitness I was also assisting the trainees of physical sciences of the University of Genoa and I was an assistant to Professor Scotton Claudio of the University of Asti. Unique experiences that remain!

Years later (if I remember correctly June 2016) I started working with the movida fitness team! A wonderful discipline for me! I met the creator Sergio Gio Bandanas, with whom I grew up professionally, and together with him and his wife Elena Di Stefano (now a great friend) and the whole team, we turn the stages of Rimini wellness and high-level conventions. My great experience in fitness was this year that I was called on the stage of Bibione beach fitness 2019 … (another dream that came true). I taught  Reejam together with my friend Babi Fabbri. Reejam is a discipline of Laura Cristina and Ivan Robustelli.
It has opened another chapter in my life that I am really proud of. I seem to be a little girl of the times while I dance reejam, it opened my mind and I’m discovering things about myself that I didn’t know. I love to dance but hip hop in a particular way.
And so I started to study things unknown to me and now I can say that together with movida fitness is what I like most to do, after all we dance and have fun. The body comes to life and inspiration and becomes one with the music.

It has destabilized me a lot but I admit that my work / passion has helped me to go beyond everything.

10. How have you changed compared to twenty year old Valentina?
On a working level, obviously very …
Maybe I don’t have the same explosive charge anymore … (I can’t judge this) I try to be more moderator.  Before I demanded a lot from the students, now I try to make them understand that they must above all have fun and, if they want results, seek them by striving and working hard when we teach.
I have a lot more fun and so it’s much easier from a point of view …
But I’m definitely more tired … well I’m not 20 anymore

11. A person you feel you have to say thank you to?

It helps me get better
To believe that there is a reason for everything and that our destiny is already written … you just have to have a lot of trust.  This thought that I have never makes me question what I believe.  It gives me a hand in moments of difficulty, in the controversies that arise in the courses between the students.  In short, I think that thinking about the positive, good things come.

17. Has the world of fitness changed over the years?
Absolutely yes!
Now a training weekend is enough to teach .. before you had to have experience in the sector and a qualification.
It is certainly easier to make yourself known to the beginner, because there are many gyms looking for economic teachers.

18. Now you work with children.  Can you tell us about it?  What are the positive and negative aspects of your new job?
I support children with a disability.  The only negative is that you never know enough to help them.  There are many positive aspects, to help them, to see them smile, to teach them to grow.
